Marathon Relay Details

  • The Circular Logic Marathon Relay is a very informal event:
    • You can enter as many or as few relay members as you wish
    • Your team can run it in any way you want...two people each running 13 laps or 6 people running alternate laps or 2 people running 3 laps at a time or whatever...we don’t care...you make it work for you.
    • You can include anyone you want on your team:  all male, all female, co-ed, family, young/old, even (gasp) Purdue and IU people on the same team.
    • We'll put a timing chip on a velcro ankle strap. Each time you swap runners, you'll have to move the strap to the new runner.
    • Therefore, it’s simply up to the team to get the chip around the course 26 times.
  • We'll make registration simple too.
    • On the registration page, there is a separate category called "Marathon Relay" .
    • The team "captain" is the only person who has to register and pay.
    • Relay teams can opt for the 7am or 8am early start times, if they wish.
    • We’ll handle all communication directly with the captain and trust anyone with the leadership skills to sign up for a marathon relay also has the chops to stay in touch with his/her team members.
    • The Captain can also collect from team members any way he/she decides.  Even if it involves repayment of collateral debt obligations.
    • The Captain will also collect a waiver sheet from each member of his/her team and turn it in before or on Race Day.
    • Registration includes:
      • The team registration fee, the only mandatory fee
      • Your choice to purchase medals for your team
      • Your choice to purchase CLM T-shirts for your team
  • We'll not give any awards for the Marathon Relay
    • Since the Relay is "free form", there won't be equivalence between teams.
    • However, we will publish the results of all the teams
    • The team members will still be able to get their official lap splits, just like the solo runners
    • Team members who are not running can stand around and eat at the HQ gazebo, thus reconsuming all calories expended during their running stint.
    • You might want to bring a foldable chair to relax in while not running.  You can also bring a tent or other elements to cheer from.
    • Any inter-office competition you want to set up is perfectly OK by us!!
